Helen and Douglas House, have auctioned a luxury seafood platter (Fruit de Mer) that Haymans kindly donated for there simply supper auction, i am pleased to say that this prize raised much interest and many bids, and a winning bid of £200 has won the prize.

Annual Lobster Festival (27/07/2009)


A huge thanks to all those who helped and took part in our Lobster Festival '09. The event was a huge success with many people trying lobster for the first time, lots of people having a go in the guess the weight of the giant lobster to win it, colouring competitions, giveaways etc. Pictures of the winners will be published here soon.

Now in store - Easter Coloring Competition for children with chocolate easter eggs as prizes.

There are two age groups of upto 10 years and 11 to 16 years, with a winner and ruuner prize in each age group.

Haymans wish to thank all our customers for their support on Red Nose Day. We raised £39.55 for charity.

All Haymans Staff will be wearing red noses etc on Red Nose Day. If you wish to donate you can do so in the shop from 26/2/2009 until 13/03/2009.

Haymans have been shortlisted in the top 3 fishmongers in the country, for the national award for the independent seafood retailer of the year 2009. The event is held every 2 years. In 2007, Haymans were runner up.

The award ceremony will be held on the 21st May - watch this space for results!!

2. Part time driver - 6am until 11am 5 or 6 days a week for multi drop in and around Oxford
3. Part-time cleaner- afternoons (c. 1pm until 5pm for 5 or 6 days)

Children in need (14/11/2008)

Steven Thompson-sat in bath of 100 Live Crayfish for 3 hours.
Geraint Jones, Tommy Nuttall, Mark James, Mat Lach and Tom Lach all dressed as clowns for 8 hours.
Ray Lindsey had his head shaved completely bald.

We collected £365 on the day from customers in the Covered market, and we should by the time we get all sponsors in, have collected nearly £1000.

Haymans would like to thank all those who took part, plus the Market barber for donating the head shaving and Auto Salvage for loaning the cast iron bath, and most importantly all those who kindly donated their hard earned cash.

The winner of our 8ft cuddly shark was Ella Rice, aged 8 from North Oxford. The prize was presented to Ella by counter assistant Hannah Roberts.
